Welcome to St. Mary of False River

Altar Society
     The Society is responsible for the upkeep and care of the altar, vestments, and linens, utilizing teams that clean the church on a weekly basis and schedules church decorating teams.

Bereavement Committee
     The Committee provides support to the families and individuals at the time of death according to the needs of the families at that time, such as food, visitation, cards, etc.

Knights of Columbus Council No. 1998
     A Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization that actively works to promote Christian values in the community, service to the Church, and gives public witness to their faith.

Sunday Nursery
    
The Nursery is available each Sunday in the St. Joseph Center for the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Masses.

Youth Ministry
     The Ministry provide religious, civil, cultural, social, and athletic programs for the youth of the parish.

 H.O.P.E. IVC of Pointe Coupee
    
The group includes people who are interested in working together with people from other churches to understand and address the underlying needs of our community, especially the most vulnerable citizens of our community. The ministry includes performing spiritual and corporal works of mercy.

Seniors Mass
     A Mass for the elderly parishioners is held each month in the Parish Hall, followed by a brunch.

Vocations Committee
    
Members will explore and organize ways to promote priestly and religious vocations on a regular basis.

Social Concerns Committee:
    
This committee will help our parish to fulfill the Church’s mission of justice and reconciliation through a communal organized response to societal needs. It will serve those in need of food, housing and shelter, those who are sick or suffering from bereavement, divorce or separation, those with special needs such as the disabled, shut-ins, widows, seniors and prisoners.

55+ Social Club:
  
The club will meet socially on a regular basis. Types of social activities will probably include dances, potluck suppers, games, outings, and other activities determined by the group.  The club will have a coordinating committee with energetic individuals who organize and coordinate the group’s activities.
